Guys 'n' dolls & GCSE's

Yep, we are in the middle of both of these. Georgia is battling through her 'A' level final exams and Joel is playing the part of Sky Masterson at Theatre Clwyd in a couple of weeks.

Nige is set for another epically active weekend. To start the weekend in style we are attending a gourmet evening tonight at the Forest Hills hotel (just checking standards for our retreats of course).

I am heavily into prep for our Scrapcamp at the moment but I wanted to give a shout out for letter/number templates. I have a set of acrylic ones that I have owned for years and find endlessly useful. I lost the 'K' recently and a customer (thank you Mary) kindly made me another. You can make your own if you can't find any to purchase by finding a font you like online, enlarging them to a decent size and printing them. Cut them out and use and reuse them.

One of my fave ways of using them at the moment is for zentangle. So useful to be able to make a monogram or full name/word or number for a special birthday.
Trace the name/number.

Doodle inside the open spaces and then layer up to form a card.

Likewise, use to paper piece. Below the letters have been used on a memo board,

on a card with doodling around the edges of each letter,

on a wall hanger,

on layouts inked around each letter edge to give definition,

or with stickers,

as the title on the cover of a mini book with stamped images,

as a journalling block on a layout.

So get yourself a set. If you make them yourself heavy acetate is a good durable material to use.

Happy crafting
